Privacy Policy

Voise is a voice app. That means the most personal thing you give us is your actual voice, so this policy is specific about what happens to it, who else touches it, and how long it stays.

The short version. We collect what you record and what you do in the app. We do not track you across other apps or websites, we do not sell anything to anyone, we do not use advertising identifiers, and we never ask for your location.

What we collect

What	Why
Your voice recordingsThe audio of every voice story you publish.	It is the thing you are publishing. Stored so it can be played back by people you share it with.
TranscriptsThe words in your recordings, with per-word timings.	So the script can be read alongside the audio, so stories are searchable by what was said, and so recordings can be edited by their words.
Account detailsEmail address, display name, handle, and anything you add to your profile.	To sign you in and to show who a voice belongs to.
Photos you chooseA cover image for a story, or a profile picture.	Only the images you pick. We never scan your library; the picker hands us one file.
ActivityWhat you listened to, reactions, comments, follows, and the people in your circles.	To count listens, rank the daily board, and show you the voices of people you know.
Subscription statusWhether Voise+ is active, and when it renews.	To unlock the features you paid for. Payment itself is handled by Apple; we never see your card.

What we do not collect

No location. Voise never requests location permission and stores no location data of any kind.
No contacts. We do not read your address book.
No advertising identifiers, and no third-party trackers or analytics SDKs. There are no ads in Voise.
No background microphone access. The microphone is used only while you are actively recording, on a screen you opened to record.

Who else touches your data

Three companies process data on our behalf. They act on our instructions and cannot use your data for their own purposes.

Processor	What reaches them
SupabaseHosting, database, file storage, authentication.	Everything above. This is where your account, your recordings and your activity live.
ElevenLabsSpeech-to-text.	The audio of a published voice story, once, to produce its transcript. Not your drafts, and not audio you never publish.
AnthropicThe AI features.	Transcript text only, never audio: for fact-checking a story, for the speaking insights in Voise+, and for safety classification of published stories.

Apple processes your subscription if you buy Voise+. We receive only whether it is active and when it renews.

How long things last

A published voice story lives for seven days, then it stops being visible to other people. Recordings you have not published are not uploaded at all.
Your account data stays until you delete your account.
Edits are non-destructive. Cropping or cutting words from a story records where to start and stop playing; the original file is not overwritten, so the parts you cut still exist in storage until the story is deleted.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app, in Settings. Deleting removes your profile, your voice stories and their audio files, your comments, reactions and listens. Some records may persist briefly in encrypted backups before ageing out.

Children

Voise is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to processing or to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Contact us and we will act on it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect, not only by updating this page.
